With face masks becoming mandatory over the past few months in many areas of the country, this has brought added challenges to many people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and who rely on lip-reading and facial cues for communication.
Did you know that in Queensland you are exempt from wearing a mask when talking to someone with a hearing loss, who needs to see your face and read your lips for clear communication?
You can download a mask exemption image from our website to save on to your phone, and show this to people to let them know that they can remove their mask when talking to you.
