CICADA Queensland is led by a dedicated team of volunteers who bring together a wide mix of professional expertise, lived experience, and community passion.
Our Committee structure reflects the diverse needs of a hearing loss not-for-profit organisation — combining governance, advocacy, rehabilitation support, and community connection. Every person who sits at our table contributes something unique, helping CICADA Queensland continue to grow and support people across the state on their journey to better hearing.
A Well-Balanced Team
Each seat on our Committee plays an important role in shaping the direction of CICADA Queensland. We aim for a balance of lived experience and professional expertise — something that is often encouraged by grant and funding bodies, which value representation from people with the same disability that the organisation serves.
Currently, five of our seven Committee members are cochlear implant users, complemented by two professionals with direct personal or family experience in hearing loss. This structure ensures our leadership remains authentic, informed, and community-driven.
Together, our team continues to build on CICADA Queensland’s long-standing mission to connect, support, and empower people living with hearing loss throughout the state.
